Ce petit livre, imaginé par deux amis : Joseph Rippl-Rónai et James Pitcairn-Knowles, au temps de la fête de Noël, en l'année 1895, a paru sous la bonne protection de M. S. Bing à Paris. La petite histoire est de George Rodenbach. Les simples images sont de Joseph Rippl-Rónai.
