Sustainable collaboration
Sustainability and accessibility are important themes, for both Hyundai as the Van Gogh Museum. While the Van Gogh Museum aims to be one of the most sustainable museums in the world, Hyundai has the ambition to become the greenest mobility provider in the world.
Part of the long-lasting partnership are the two 100% electrical Hyundai cars, decorated with Van Gogh’s masterpieces, with which the museum can inspire people across the country with the life and art of Vincent van Gogh. The collaboration is topped with the Hyundai x Van Gogh Museum Connection Day that will be held for the third time in the autumn of 2022.
JP Lee, President and CEO of Hyundai Motor Netherlands:
‘It is important for us as a successful brand in electric driving to be connected with one of the most well-known museums of the Netherlands that has the drive to be sustainable, today and in the future.’
‘We support the team of the Van Gogh Museum with our 100% electric new IONIQ 5 and new KONA Electric, that for the occasion have been fully wrapped in one of the 2 most iconic Van Gogh pieces of art: Sunflowers and Almond Blossom.’
Hyundai x Van Gogh Museum Connection Day
During the Hyundai x Van Gogh Museum Connection Day several activities will be organised to connect target groups, for whom a museum visit isn’t always a given, to the world of Vincent van Gogh. For example, in recent years several special packages of art supplies were delivered to various healthcare institutions by electrical cars from Hyundai to provide the elderly with a creative afternoon.
The last edition, in which residents of care institutions in the Brabant region in the south of the Netherlands were surprised with a workshop ‘Paint The Potato Eaters’, resulted in heart-warming reactions.
