During this inaugural edition, participants will be surprised on location with ‘coronavirus-proof’ workshops focused on painting in the style of Van Gogh.
Art has the power to unite, inspire and comfort. However, a museum visit – in these challenging times, but also in a world without a pandemic – is not always straightforward for vulnerable elderly people. During the Hyundai x Van Gogh Museum Connection Day, special workshops are organised at various locations in and around Amsterdam.
These events are organised in collaboration with partners of the Van Gogh Museum from the health and welfare sector. The workshop packages, delivered ‘coronaproof’ in Hyundai electric cars, contain painting supplies and an instruction video to teach participants how to paint in the style of Vincent van Gogh.
The workshop video focuses on the work Farmhouse in a Wheatfield (1888), and is also available online. By offering the elderly an afternoon of creative activity, Hyundai and the Van Gogh Museum hope to make a positive contribution to their well-being.
Painting supplies for the workshops are generously provided by Royal Talens, member of the Van Gogh Museum Global Circle, an international network of corporate patrons. Royal Talens products are available at the Van Gogh Museum webshop.
