As main partner of the museum, Van Lanschot will dedicate itself to preserving the work by Vincent van Gogh (1853-1890), enriching and inspiring as many people as possible.
Karl Guha (Chairman of the Board of Directors of Van Lanschot): ‘Supporting art and culture is the way for Van Lanschot to contribute to the preservation and advancement of our cultural capacity as a society, in which seeing, hearing, experiencing and sharing are the connecting elements. This fits in perfectly with the Van Gogh Museum’s vision of being one of the most authoritative and accessible museums in the world. We are proud, as main partner, to support the Van Gogh Museum with trend-setting initiatives like the recent exhibition Hockney - Van Gogh: The Joy of Nature.’
Successful Collaboration
Adriaan Dönszelmann (Director of Business Affairs, Van Gogh Museum): ‘Our collaboration with Van Lanschot over the last 5.5 years has been exceedingly successful. We’re very pleased, therefore, that the wealth manager has strengthened this relationship by signing as main partner. The museum will celebrate its 50th anniversary in 2023, and we’re looking forward to working towards this in collaboration with Van Lanschot. Partly due to Van Lanschot’s contribution, the Van Gogh Museum can preserve Vincent van Gogh’s work for future generations.'
The collaboration began in 2013, when Van Lanschot supported the construction of the new entrance to the museum. The opening was celebrated in style, involving, amongst others, the planting of 125,000 sunflowers on Museumplein, which were donated to the people of Amsterdam after the event.
Another, more recent, successful collaboration resulted in the public light show The Arrival of Spring LIVE to promote the popular exhibition Hockney - Van Gogh: The Joy of Nature. Van Lanschot supported this unique and well-received event, in which the elements seeing, hearing, experiencing and sharing beautifully came together when Hockney’s painting The Arrival of Spring was projected and brought to life on Museumplein.
