Vincent’s art and life story constantly inspire Tyas. When he’s not guiding visitors around the museum, Tyas is himself an artist. He also gives lessons at various museums, including the Van Gogh Museum. During every guided tour, he sees how Van Gogh’s art touches people, evokes something in them. And it still never fails to surprise him that visitors make the effort to come to the museum in special sunflower outfits.
Paula and her colleagues ensure that the museum is spic and span; day in, day out. And that of course includes the space where Sunflowers is on view. The painting always immediately catches her eye as she enters the gallery. Paula still thinks it is special to be able to work surrounded by the art, before the visitors arrive.

In her current position, she helps to promote Vincent’s art and life story all around the world. She will never forget the first time she introduced her young son to Sunflowers, when the gallery was almost empty.
Nina started at the museum as an intern, and is now the Events Team Leader. Every year, she and her team organise countless events at the museum. From exclusive dinners on location in the gallery next to Sunflowers, to the inspirational Vincent on Friday evenings. Over the years, sunflowers have developed a special meaning for Nina. She even always carries them with her!
